Back in 2005, Brad Pitt founded the Make It Right Foundation to build sustainable homes for communities in need following Hurricane Katrina. He insisted a star studded group of architects to support the project, and with Frank Gehry has just unveiled the foundations first Duplex.
Fittingly, the home is less ornamented than what you'd think from Gehry. It is built with a view to the history and vernacular style of New Orleans (as well as the climate) and a canopy of solar panels to provide power. The house is Gehry's first home in Louisiana and has been awarded LEED platinum certification. [Dezeen]
