In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Royal Oak, Audemars Piguet has produced a unique exhibition at the Park Avenue Armory. The first luxury sports time piece, the Royal Oak has progressed from avant-garde to icon in four decades. The rarest of these time pieces are brilliantly displayed in the exhibition and form a central portion of a stunning full room installation at the Armory. Combining design, sound, and film, artists Sebastian Agneessens, Quayola, and Dan Holdsworth created the full backdrop, which serves to highlight the Swiss firm's origins.

Aside from the 100 watches on display, the Royal Oak exhibition also features a watchmaker's area where visitors can closely observe the artistry of Audemars Piguet's craftsmen.

The exhibition is on view today and tomorrow at the Park Avenue Armory, 643 Park Avenue at 67th Street, New York, NY.
