When founder Mimi Nguyen, thought to herself on how she could fill the niche of individual expression, especially through street photography, she created Thre.ad. A user-submitted fashion-focused photo app allows the user to post photos of anything fashionable. While submitting photos through the free iPhone app or website, users tag the brands and items (i.e. striped shirt) within them, and each of these also becomes a browsing mechanism.
