Surprising news from American retail giant, GAP, today. After four years they’ve decided to part ways with famed designer Patrick Robinson, stating falling sales and a desire to “go in a new direction” as the main factors. A very well-known designer, especially in high-fashion circles, Robinson has held design jobs at Perry Ellis, Calvin Klein, and was most recently creative director for Paco Rabanne in Paris before joining GAP in 2007. Stay tuned for what’s to come from GAP. [WSJ]
