NYC-based heavyweight brand Mighty Healthy has been killing the competitive streetwear game since 2004. The brand just recently dropped its Spring 2011 T-Shirts and founder, Ray Mate talks with us about Mighty Healthy's abstract graphics and New York City influences:
"When I think of spring, I think of blunts, Biggie, and trips up north. On the East Coast, everyone's favorites were Biggie, Mobb Deep, and Wu-Tang during the '90s. You didn't have to be from New York to appreciate the music and their steez (fuck that word SWAG) and translate it to fashion. All the classics came from the '90s era so we try to keep Mighty Healthy graphics fun [like they were back then]."
Mighty Healthy's design process is a lot more organic with a whole lot of New York cred. Available at Moose Limited and Karmaloop, $28.
