In more "UGH, FINALLY" news, WWD reports that denim brand Levi Strauss and retailer H&M have teamed up with The International Textile Garment and Leather Workers' Federation to promote awareness of the harmfulness of sandblasted jeans. If you were oblivious, the process of sandblasting involves using cystalline silica to wear down denim, which leads to silicosis, a fatal lung disease that 40 garment workers in Turkey have died of since 2005. Our only question is, who the hell actually still wears sandblasted denim??? Any man with the smallest inkling of fashion sense would know that the image of jeans above is an ultimate fail.
