In the above documentary, Undercity NYC, urban historian Steve Duncan takes the viewer on a The Descent-style tour of the New York subway and sewer system. Mr. Duncan's the cops-are-gonna-get-us shtick and director Andrew Wonder's choice of this-is-the-best-thing-ever editing is a little over the top, but the video looks at some of the cooler spots around the city and it's worth a click around the timeline. Duncan checks out the City Hall subway stop, the Canal St. sewer, and he talks with some of the long-term residents of the underground. It's probably not worth a half-hour at your desk, but it's a great way to blow 10 minutes. [Vandablog]
