Rose cashed in after his MVP season in 2011, with a five-year, $94 million contract. So he’s still able to get paid like an MVP, despite not playing like one in five years. It’s not that D-Rose is a terrible player; when he’s healthy, he’s still one of the better point guards in the NBA. But injuries have clearly taken a toll on his career, which is unfortunate, given how great he was just a few years ago. Rose will be a free agent this offseason, so it’s safe to say he’ll be making less than $21.3 million next season.
