Fresh off ofĀ rippingChris PaulĀ for the Sunsā Game 7 blowout loss, Patrick Beverley returned to ESPNāsĀ Get UpĀ on TuesdayĀ morning to unleash more criticism about his peers, this time questioning if the Brooklyn Nets have what it takes to win a title.
āCan they bring a title to Brooklyn? They need a lot of help...three really good teams thatās gonna be in Eastern Conference next year for sure,ā Beverley said.
It didnāt take long for Kevin Durant to catch wind of Beverleyās comments. The Nets superstar took to Twitter on Tuesday to indirectly address the Timberwolves guardās bold take, sharing a classic Kanye West tweet that read, āHe running around like Pac.ā
After a few Twitter users mentioned Beverley in the comments, with one follower writing, ālol role players talking like All-Stars,ā KD replied, āThese guys need to stop.ā
The aforementioned Kanye tweet dates back to December 2018, when WestĀ unleashed a series of tweetsĀ aimed at Drake. The tweetstorm, which occurred after Drake took subliminal shots at Kanye in Travis Scottās āSicko ModeāĀ and French Montanaās āNo Stylist,ā saw Ye accuse Drake of threatening him and his family.Ā
Subsequently, Kanye suggested Drake was ārunning aroundā recklessly, like the late 2Pac.
As for KD and Beverley, Durant isnāt the first player whoās called out the polarizing guard in the wake of his comments about Chris Paulās dismal performance in Phoenixās Game 7 loss to the Dallas Mavs.Ā
Damian Lillard hopped on Twitter on Monday to respondĀ to Patās comments about Chris.
āBra on TV acting like his word law,ā he wrote. āSpeaking on private convos and praying on mfs downfall. This weird behavior smh.ā He also addressed someone bringing up Patās stats with the claim hisĀ āstats arenāt bad.āĀ
āCuz nobody guarding this man,ā Lillard replied.
