For the remaining duration of their playoff run the Golden State Warriors will be covered by one less reporter. Or, at least, they'll be covered by one less specific reporter, after ABC7/KGO-TV sports anchor Mike Shumann was caught on video stealing the jacket of Warriors' director of team security, Ralph Walker, following a team practice in San Antonio.

In a statement that KGO wrote to The Athletic, a spokesperson said: "We are taking these allegations very seriously and conducting a full investigation. As a matter of policy, we do not comment about personnel matters.”

The Athletic adds that Shumann (who actually won a Super Bowl in 1982 as a wide receiver for the 49ers) has been sent home by KGO, whom he has worked for since 1994.

Several Warriors players are reportedly pissed about the way the incident was handled, and think that Shumann was given preferential treatment. The team has an agreement with KGO to provide exclusive interviews with players, those interviews were traditionally conducted by Shumann, and now members of the team have been refusing to conduct more.

Shumann has apologized to several players since the incident, and did not participate in the channel's post-game show following Game 4 on Sunday.

Why take a coat? What was even the point?
