While at Dallas Mavericks forward Harrison Barnes' wedding over the weekend, Steph Curry was captured doing an impression of LeBron James' now infamous workout video from June. LeBron's teammate (for the moment) Kyrie Irving was also in the clip, laughing along. Many thought the clip, which has been making the rounds since it surfaced, was a direct jab at LeBron and an exacerbation of his growing beef with Kyrie.
All this comes on the heels of the bombshell news that Irving has requested a trade from Cleveland. News of the request allegedly left LeBron "blindsided" and "disappointed." Irving has been with the Cavs since the 2011 NBA Draft.
The now-legendary rivalry between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers has led to some serious trolling. There was LeBron James' Ultimate Warrior t-shirt, which he sported after the Warriors' 2016 championship loss, despite a 3-1 lead, and Draymond Green’s “Quickie” t-shirt that he wore in response this year after defeating the Cavs 4-1. Despite the trolling history between the two teams, it seems the latest example of it was in fact not intentional. Or, at least that's what Curry says.
While speaking to The Athletic, Curry cleared the air on the video of the LeBron impression, saying that he wasn't mocking the player:
