Gregg Popovich appears to leave a massive tip on an $815 meal.

Gregg Popovich may be a complete jag to reporters asking him easy as hell to answer questions, but he balances that out (apparently) by really opening up his freakin' wallet for people in the service industry. We say that because, as a Reddit user brought to the internet's attention, the oft-prickly coach (or at least some other Gregg Popovich who spells his name with two G's) left a $5,000 tip to a server on a wine bar bill of $815.73 last week:

The massive gratuity was left this past Friday at a Memphis joint called McEwen's. And while the owner didn't confirm that it was the Gregg Popovich, he did say that the longtime San Antonio coach has visited there before. Very sly.

Also, as Grizzlies and Spurs fans know, Game 4 of their first-round playoff series took place in Memphis on Saturday. So it all adds up. Also, the signature looks a lot like this autograph he's previously handed out. Plus, he likes wine a lot.

This thing going viral really puts pressure on him for whenever he dines out in the future. In fact, we might be ruining a real heartfelt human gesture here. But as you know, no good deed goes unpunished.
