Nate Thurmond, former Golden State Warriors great, died early Saturday morning at the age of 74 following a battle with leukemia.
Voted one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA history, Thurmond's accolades include seven All-Star selections, and an induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1985. On Oct. 18, 1974, Big Nate became the first player in league history to record a quadruple-double when he scored 22 points, grabbed 14 boards, dished out 13 assists, and blocked 12 shots against the Atlanta Hawks.
Since the news of Thurmond's death, many people have shared a few words as they mourn his death.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver released a statement to give his condolences on behalf of the league's front office upon the death of the NBA legend.
