After beating down the Cowboys on Thanksgiving, the Panthers had last weekend off. And Cam Newton, like a lot of NFL players, took the opportunity to visit his alma mater.

The former Auburn quarterback, who won a Heisman and a national championship in 2010 at the SEC school, served as a team captain for Saturday's Iron Bowl and watched helplessly as Alabama won its second straight over its arch rival. But when it came time to head home, Newton was the real winner, avoiding traffic by hopping on his hoverboard.

Newton's affinity for the hoverboard is nothing new. He was spotted riding one around downtown Charlotte back in September.
