The Lakers Want DeMarcus Cousins So Bad, They'd Already Trade D'Angelo Russell For Him

The LA Lakers really want another big man

It's been just three days since the Los Angeles Lakers surprised some people by nabbing Ohio State point guard D'Angelo Russell with the second overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, and yet it sounds like the team is already willing to part with their shiny new toy.

According to Mark Heisler of the Los Angeles Daily News, the Lakers are still in hot pursuit of Sacramento Kings all-star DeMarcus Cousins, whose name has been swirling in trade rumors ever since it came out that he and head coach George Karl don't exactly enjoy each other's company. They are so fond of the big man, that they'd be willing to ship Russell up the I-5 in a heartbeat.

This process will take years, not a year.

So, it doesn't sound like it's going to happen. But it can't be all that comforting to Russell to hear his name in trade rumors before he even steps foot in El Segundo at the Lakers practice facility, even if it is in exchange for one of the best young big men in the game.
