Many people in Joel Embiid's predicament would be coming up with a variety of fake deep Twitter posts. Because potentially not being No. 1 in the NBA Draft is some heavy stuff, and posting a biblical verse on Instagram using the hashtags #determination and #stillirise may be the only way to cope. Plus, it's not like you can re-enter the draft with the hopes of becoming the No. 1 pick. It's sort of a once in a lifetime thing.

Embiid isn't fretting too much though from the looks of this picture he posted on Twitter. Either that or he's an old soul using a smile to mask another run-in with disappointment. Let's be optimistic and hope for the former, and let's not be petty in a couple of years if he has a bad performance during an NBA Finals game and go, "Look at this picture. This man obviously has no drive!"

UPDATE: Embiid may not be ready for the beginning of the season.
