Curling is cool. We know it. You know it. And Vernon Davis knows it. Um, wait, what?!

Yes, that's right. Apparently, Vernon Davis is a big curling fan. In fact, he's such a big fan that he's serving as the U.S. Olympic curling team's "honorary captain" at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi—four years after serving as the team's captain at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. He calls curling his "true love" and seems genuinely infatuated with the sport. It's…well, sort of weird. Really weird actually. Like we said, we love curling and all of the amazing life lessons that it teaches us. But we didn't think the 49ers tight end would be a guy who would be into curling. And his explanation of why he loves it doesn't really help explain things, either.

Take a look at the clip above to hear Davis talk at length about curling. The only one more surprised than us is the reporter here. She basically asks Davis the question "Wait, so curling? Curling?!" in about 10 different ways.

Yes, lady, curling. It's awesome! What don't you get?
