The Miami Dolphins have officially ended their partnership with general manager Jeff Ireland after an announcement today. The Dolphins described the move as a mutual parting of ways.
That seems to be highly unlikely considering how Ireland's tenure in Miami ended. After a solid start to the season, Miami fell apart late culminating in a very disappointing 20-7 loss against the New York Jets that sealed their fate. Ireland finished his Dolphins tenure with five consecutive non-winning seasons in Miami. Ireland spent more than $200 million in free agency only to finish a pedestrian 8-8 this season.
