When Spokane, Wash. resident Jason Martinez ran into a store earlier this month and decided to leave his tiny Chihuahua Toby inside of his car by himself for a few minutes, he thought, "How much damage could this dog possibly do while I'm gone?" But as it turned out, the answer to that question was…a lot.
Toby didn't rip up the interior of the car, though. He also didn't use the bathroom on the floor of the car or drool all over the car's seats. Instead, he managed to put the car into drive, went for a very short joy ride, and then crashed the car into the back of another driver down the street. The other driver Tabitha Ormaechea said that she was shocked after the accident took place.
"When I looked up, there was no one in the car, just a little dog up on the steering wheel peeking over looking at me," she said. "I didn't know if I was crazy, or if this little dog had taken a joy ride."
Fortunately, the dog didn't do too much damage to either car. And no one was hurt in the accident. But Martinez did say that Toby's license had been revoked after the accident.
Ha! We're glad everyone can laugh about this now. But this could have been a very bad situation.
