Volvo sees Nissan's 2020 self-driving rollout and raises it 2017. That's the year Volvo plans to have its "Drive Me" program runnning with 100 autonomous cars. The Volvos will be distributed in Sweden to specially selected drivers whose commentary and diagnostic info will be collected by the manufacturer.
Volvo isn't undertaking this program alone. It's working with the Swedish government to make traveling "safer, smoother, and less polluted," as well as revolutionizing infrastructure.
