The Rolls-Royce SUV Might Never Happen if the Designers Can't Make It Feel Right

If it's going to be done, it has to be done properly.

The rumors of an impending Rolls-Royce SUV won't stop, so when we were in Arizona with Rolls-Royce we figured we'd ask a few questions regarding said car, and the answer we got was very encouraging.

Rolls has been actively working on an SUV, and the design team has presented several sketches and renderings, but all of them have been sent back. "It needs to feel like a Rolls-Royce, and if we can't figure that out, we just won't make the car" said Global Communications Director Richard Carter.

"It was clear to everyone who saw [the Bentley EXP-9 F] that it was not a mature concept, and that's why it was rejected. If it's going to come across like that, we'd rather not make the car at all." We both agreed that the only ultra-high end company that had really managed to make an SUV that fit the brand so far was Lamborghini.

Up until now, we were worried that the company might make something horrible and just put it out there for the inevitable wads of cash, but this makes us feel better.
