The Arabian Peninsula's Empty Quarter is one of the most brutal places on Earth. It's the second largest desert, and the daily high averages at around 117° F, and it has been known to reach 134° from time to time, which we usually think of as "medium-rare." Needless to say, just undertaking the 527 mile journey from a tounge-twister named Wadi Adda Wasir to the UAE requires massive balls.
A factory-backed, but showroom stock, Range Rover Sport driven by Dakar Rally veteran Moi Torrallardona just completed the journey in a record breaking 10 hours and 22 minutes, arriving in time to show up at the Dubai motor show like a boss. Land Rover is planning to release a documentary regarding the undertaking soon.
