Tragic news hit the college football world thanks to another senseless act of violence. First-year Missouri Southern State University assistant coach Derek Moore was murdered as he was leaving a Joplin, MO movie theater on Friday. He was shot and succumbed to his wounds at the hospital. Moore was 37.

Jeffery L. Bruner, who's 39 years old, has been arrested as a suspect.

This sadly happened during the school's homecoming weekend. The tragedy forced Missouri Southern State to cancel its planned festivites, including the game.

Condolences go out to his family, including the 7-year-old son he leaves behind.
