Hey, guys, did you know that Jay Z used to sell drugs? Yup. It's true. But just in case you didn't catch any of the 6,294,081 drug references that he has slipped into his songs over the course of the last 20 years or so, he just reminded the world again that he used to be a drug dealer by working it into his recent interview with Vanity Fair. Specifically, Jay said that he believes his experience as a drug dealer will help him as a sports agent with Roc Nation Sports. How so? We'll let him explain it.

"I know about budgets," he said. "I was a drug dealer. To be in a drug deal, you need to know what you can spend, what you need to re-up. Or if you want to start some sort of barbershop or car wash—those were the businesses back then. Things you can get in easily to get out of [that] life. At some point, you have to have an exit strategy, because your window is very small; you're going to get locked up or you're going to die."

Hmmm…Will that help him get Robinson Cano a 10-year, $305 million contract this offseason? Unlikely. But it's clear that Jay thinks he has the know-how, the experience, and the pedigree to be a successful sports agent. So whether his drug-dealing past plays a role in the success of Roc Nation Sports or not, we're not going to doubt him.
