Broncos linebacker Von Miller just can't seem to keep himself out of trouble right now. Last month, Miller got arrested after he tried to purchase a gun and a routine background check revealed that he had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest. He also got suspended by the NFL a short time later for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. And now comes the news that Miller just got into trouble with the law yet again during a recent traffic stop.
According to Arapahoe Country Sheriff Grayson Robinson, Miller was pulled over last week while he was driving with his father and was ticketed for driving without a license and for speeding. He wasn't arrested since his father was with him and was able to drive his vehicle home for him. But Miller will have to make an appearance in court sometime in the near future to answer to the charges. He shouldn't face any penalties from the league or the Broncos for his latest citation. But it's obviously just one more blemish on his record in the NFL.
Let's hope this is the last time we hear about Miller running into trouble with the law. It's the last thing that he needs right now and the last thing that the Broncos need to be dealing with after their impressive win in Week 1 of the 2013-14 NFL season.
UPDATE:
Turns out we were wrong! Roger Goodell might penalize Miller further for the citation that he received last week. He's not expected to do it. But he could potentially add to his six-game suspension if he chooses to. Keep an eye out for a final decision from the NFL soon.
