Here's How Eminem Ended Up on ESPN on Saturday Night

Make sense now?

None

Did you catch the interview that Brent Musburger and Kirk Herbstreit did with Eminem on Saturday night during the Notre Dame/Michigan game? If not, go watch it over here. It was, um, strange to say the least.

But believe it or not, it's something that has been in the works for months now. Sports Illustrated scribe Richard Deitsch just did a full breakdown of how the interview came about for his "Media Circus" column. And according to those that he spoke to, Em's manager Paul Rosenberg actually approached executives at ESPN about five months ago and asked them if they would be interested in previewing Em's new single, "Berzerk," during Saturday Night Football. From there, he pushed for ESPN to preview the "Berzerk" music video. And when they agreed to do it and it came time to do the preview, ESPN told Rosenberg that they also had a two-minute window of time during halftime that they wanted to use to interview Em, who was reportedly very nervous prior to the appearance.

"How do you guys do live TV week to week?" he asked Musburger and Herbstreit, according to Deitsch's piece.
