Earlier this week, we told you about a teenager who attempted to jump over a speeding car and failed miserably. He ended up surviving the accident thanks to Lady Luck being on his side. But unfortunately, we can't say the same for a 16-year-old girl from Georgia named Anna Hawkins.

On Monday afternoon, Hawkins (check out the thumbs gallery to see a photo of her) attempted to "car surf" on top of a Suzuki Grand Vitara being driven by one of her friends in a town called Dawsonville, Ga. about 30 minutes outside of Atlanta. And Hawkins reportedly died tragically when the driver of the SUV lost control of the car at one point and ran into an embankment. Hawkins was killed when she fell off the car, which was allegedly speeding at the time of the accident.

"A bunch of kids were hollering and screaming and then my neighbor over here come out and was helping the girl," Dallas McMullin, a person who lives near the crash site, said. "When I walked out there, she was already on the ground."

How sad is that? We hope other teens learn from this tragic tale and steer clear of doing stupid stuff like "car surfing" in the future.
