Mike Eruzione never played in the NHL, but when you score a goal that lifts a nation and transcends way more than sports, it's probably the best time to step away from the game you love so much. We all remember the "Miracle on Ice" as one of the most iconic sports moments of all time courtesy of Eruzione's game-winning goal against the Soviets. The win propelled the US to the final against Finland where they won 4-2 and took home gold at the famed Summer Games of 1980 in Lake Placid.
