Delphi Automotive is one of the world's leaders in automotive electronics, and it has now teamed up with Verizon Wireless to offer a new product for your car and phone.

Vehicle Diagnotics by Delphi plugs into your car's OBD-II port under the dashboard and uses a cellular connection to send you updates regarding your car's mechanical well being, location, and information about all of its trips. One can ven set up geo-fences, which send alerts when the car crosses a certain boundry. Overbearing parents should be thrilled. Once it has been installed you can even use your iOS or Android device as a key fob, making it all but impossible to lock your keys in the car.

It costs $250 plus a $35 activation fee, and that includes two years of service. After that, a non-contract $5/month fee is all that's needed to keep the info coming.
