Team/Player: Frank Selvy
While Selvy may be best remembered for his wide open miss that would have won his Lakers the 1962 NBA championship, he also holds the record for most points scored in a college basketball game with 100 against Newberry in 1954. However remarkable it may be, the record came against a team weakened by its refusal to put the best players on the floor. While the NCAA had technically been integrated in 1950, there still existed a gentleman's agreement between teams to never play more than three African-American players at once. Had the best players been on the floor defending Selvy, he would never have reached such a gaudy total.
