Auto manufacture is nothing new to Mexico. Still, the idea of a supercar coming from Central America may still surprise people.
Slightly off the radar, the Mastreta MXT seems to have set alight a small movement and will soon be joined by the VUHL 05 in Mexico's race for fastest niche automobile. The VUHL (the name stands for Vehicles of Ultra-lightweight and High-performance) is owned by brothers Iker and Guillermo Echeverria, whose father has built GT and formula racing cars for three decades, and backed in part by the Mexican Government. Body fabrication for the car takes place in Canada, while the final assembly is set for Mexico City.
The manufacture promises a finished product "endowed with exhilarating performance." At the very least, the front end looks to have potential.
