We loved the Fiat 500 Abarth when we took it autocrossing, so we're of course very happy to see the expansion of the hot subcompact market. The Ford Fiesta ST will be powered by a 197 horsepower EcoBoost I4, should weight around  2,700 lbs, return 34 mpg, and cost $21,400. Compared to the Abarth, it's 23.125% more powerful, weighs only about 4% more, returns the same fuel economy, and costs $600 less.

We might have a winner with this one, but the real key to the Abarth's success was charisma; the Fiesta will have to absolutely transformed to be as much fun as the pint sized Italian.
