We know very little about the stillborn PhoeniX-based 9-3. We pretty much have only this grainy photo from a presentation made to banks that were propping up Saab as it got passed around like a sad little automotive hot-potato.
We would put a choice of two turbocharged four-cylinder engines in the 9-3; a 200hp base model and a 300hp sport model. Consumers would have a choice between rear and all-wheel drive, as this would help the car nab those coveted German luxury buyers. The base price would be set around $30,000 that would place it right next to the Volvo S60, and undercut ze Germans nicely.
