Back in October, the Timberwolves had high hopes for their 2012-13 NBA season. Even though Ricky Rubio was still recovering from a torn ACL, they thought they had a legitimate chance to make the 2013 NBA Playoffs. So much for that.

For the second time this season, the T'Wolves—who are currently in last place in the Western Conference's Northwest Division—will be without superstar Kevin Love for an extended period of time. He just broke his right handfor the second time and, this time, his injury required surgery. So, he'll be out for at least eight weeks and reportedly won't rush back from his injury like he did the first time. And, as a result, the T'Wolves' playoff hopes have all but disappeared.

Maybe next year, Minnesota. Maybe next year.
