NTSB Wants to Mandate Lots of Expensive Tech For New Cars

We're on a slippery slope here.

None

The National Transportation Safety Board has made it clear that crash avoidance technology, like automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, and stability control, is on its "most wanted" list. While it would be nice if idiots who were too busy spacing out stopped driving into each other, there are some issues with making this sort of technology mandatory.

Cars would all have to jump by as much as $3,000 in base price, and this is certainly creating precident for mandatory autonomous vehicles. For those of us who like driving, that's heresy.
