Msrp: $11,599 for the 675; $14,499 for the R
Specs: 126hp engine producing 55.3 lb.-ft of torque; titanium valves allowing a new redline of 14,400 RPM; stock slipper clutch (the R version gets a quickshifter); larger air intake; monobloc Nissin brake calipers on the standard 675 and Brembos on the R; upgraded Ohlins suspension for the R; lightened wheels; stock Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP rubber on both versions.
The new Daytona looks a bit sleeker than the previous version. We especially like the lines of the new exhaust. The new stock five-spoke wheels also suggest speed while the bike is standing still, unlike the previous stock wheels. Sure, you could stick some aftermarket wheels on it, but there's something to be said for nice rims that come stock.
