The Nets Reportedly Have a Blockbuster Deal In Place to Land Dwight Howard

Is this trade finally going to go through?

None

Think the Nets pulled themselves out of the Dwight Howard sweepstakes when they made a deal with the Hawks for Joe Johnson late yesterday? Think again. Despite the fact that a deal for Howard would strap them financially for the foreseeable future, the Nets are reportedly still very much alive in the race to land Howard from the Magic. In fact, they've got a blockbuster deal in place right now that might just entice Orlando to pull the trigger on a trade for Howard. According to ESPN's Chris Broussard (we know, we know…), the Nets have offered the Magic Brook Lopez, Kris Humphries, MarShon Brooks, and their first-round picks in 2013, 2015, and 2017 in exchange for Howard.

Is that too much for a guy who is coming off back surgery? Eh, probably. But, we're so tired of hearing about Howard and his trade demands right now that we wouldn't be mad if Brooklyn traded Jay-Z, Fabolous, and the rights to any and all unreleased Biggie music for Howard. Just make the trade rumors stop, please!
