The Brooklyn Nets have acquired six-time All-Star shooting guard Joe Johnson from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Jordan Farmar, Anthony Morrow, Johan Petro, Jordan Williams, and a protected 2013 first round pick (originally owned by the Houston Rockets). With Johnson already making max money and Nets franchise point guard Deron Williams assumed to be offered the same, Brooklyn would seem to not have enough room under the salary cap to sign Dwight Howard, who has indicated that the Nets are the only team he will sign an extension with.
