Legendary automobile designer and Life Senator Sergio Pininfarina passed away last night in his Turin home alongside his wife and two sons. He was 85 years old. The man who touched on a vast range of companies, such as Chevy, Volvo, Alfa Romeo, and most notably Maserati and Ferrari, graduated from Polytechnic of Torino in 1950 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He then joined the family company Carrozzeria Pinin Farina, became general manager in 1960, became Managing Director in 1966, took control of the chairmanship of the company, and became Honorary Chairman in 2006.
