In this amazing episode of Jay Leno's Garage, we learn the story of a gorgeous 1975 426 Hemi Plymouth Duster. If you're thinking, "I didn't know Plymouth made a 426 Duster," it's because they didn't. A man by the name of Paul Annunziata, who had a vision to put a pro stock class drag car onto the street, custom built this car. His project, which was partially funded by a $10,000 winning scratch-off ticket, took five years to complete. The product was an award-winning supercharged Duster with around 1,000 horsepower.
When Mr. Annunziata found out that he was sick with lung cancer, he wanted to make sure his baby found a home, where it wouldn't be sold and would be well-kept. He knew Leno's garage was the perfect place. He donated the car, and Leno donated the money he would have paid Annunziata with to McPherson College, where you can get a four-year degree in auto restoration and auto mechanics. Although Annunziata has passed, his story and passion will live on with this beautiful vehicle.
