Barry Bonds wants to coach Major League Baseball. In fact, he wants to coach Major League Baseball so bad that he's in the process of trying to convince people that he isn't the same person today as he was when he was a player. He says that that guy was actually just a character he created to entertain fans and not the person he really is.
"I created that guy out there for entertainment only," he said yesterday at a charity event. "Whether you hated me or liked me, you were there. And I only wanted you there. I just wanted you to see the show. That was it. All I ever wanted was for people to have a good time and enjoy it."
Hmmm…Not sure we're buying it. Actions speak louder than words, Barry. And, uh, your actions throughout the course of your career weren't very good. We see what you're doing here, though. Well played.
