Over the years, we've seen plenty of people run onto Major League Baseball fields in the middle of games (most recently, this jackass with "YOLO" painted on his chest did it). But, this is certainly a first. During yesterday's White Sox/Orioles game, a young child—who appears to be only 4 or 5 years old—jumped onto the field at U.S. Cellular Field and ran around for about 15 or 20 seconds before White Sox outfielder Dayan Viciedo scooped him up and handed him over to a security guard.
The good news: His family was ejected from the ballpark, but the White Sox say they don't plan to file any charges against him. The bad news: This kid is probably grounded for the rest of his life. Oh well. We guarantee he'll never forget this otherwise forgettable ballgame.
