Interview: Giants Tight End Travis Beckum Talks Super Bowl Win, Miley Cyrus, and Rookie Adjustments In The NFL

Is the Super Bowl champ really bumpin' "Party in the U.S.A." during his workouts?

None

With the NFL Draft going this week, plenty of current players (and future ballers) have made their way to NYC to take part in the festivities. Complex caught up with New York Giants tight end Travis Beckum at the Conversion Sports and Entertainment "NFL Pre-Draft Luxury Gifting and Style Suite" event, organized by CC Carnie. We got a chance to chat a little about what this year's rookies should expect, what music he's bumping, and what you should look for from the Giants next season.

Interview by Elias Ahmed (@thatetdude)

Describe the emotions you felt winning the Super Bowl this past season.

It’s great. Its kind of one of those things you dream of since you were a little boy and for it to finally come true and it actually be a reality is amazing.

When you came into the draft you were a third round pick, do you have any advice for this year's mid-level picks?

It’s tough cause in college these guys that are getting drafted were obviously the big guys on campus and were always the guys that the coaches depended on. But now coming to the league, you’re a small fish in a big pond and you just got to be prepared and work your way in. It’s a tough business, and when I say business I literally mean business, but it’s a part of the game.

When you’re getting hyped during your training sessions what are you listening to?

Probably "Call Me Maybe" or Miley Cyrus. [Laughs.] I’m just kidding, I like Jay-Z and Wayne.

What are your favorite pair of kicks?

I’m a big fan of Jordans and Air Forces.

What are your goals for the new season?

To have a big year, come back healthy from an injury, and hopefully put this team in a position to repeat again.
