As usual, the Yankees will field a team that could very well make it to the World Series this season. The only problem: They're once again pretty desperate for reliable pitching. How desperate? Well, desperate enough to sign their former ace Andy Pettitte, who retired from baseball more than a year ago, to a one-year minor league deal worth $2.5 million.
The Yankees have signed Andy Pettitte to a 1-year minor league deal worth $2.5 million. The team is thrilled to have 240-game winner back.
It's not a bad gamble considering Pettitte went 11-3 with a 3.28 ERA in his final season as a Yankee back in 2010. But it just goes to show that this team will, once again, go into their season with tons of questions surrounding their pitching staff.
Oh well. We're sure Yankee fans won't have any trouble sleeping at night. And, if they do? Try counting your 27 'chips in your head. That should do the trick.
