The law, not some cocky athlete or teenager acting out, thought it was above the law in this strange case out of Pennsylvania. Magisterial District Judge Kelly Ballentine is up against criminal charges after she though she could use her authoritative position to excuse three of her own parking tickets. Forty-three-year-old Ballentine of Lancaster faces conflict of interest, tampering with public records and obstruction charges for two parking infractions in November 2010 and a third for expired registration on her BMW. Once she received the summonses in the mail, she accessed the online system and pushed them through herself. She was released on $25,000 bond. It's always nice to see our higher-ups setting a good example.
