Ahhh, now this makes sense. We've been wondering for a couple of months now why Tiki Barber wants to put his body through an NFL comeback—especially when you consider that the whole reason he retired in the first place back in 2008 was to avoid punishing his body any further. "Must be the money!" was our first though. But upon further review, it appears Barber is trying to get back into the game for a different reason: To treat depression.

"The game never needs you because there's always someone else to come and take your place," Barber told HBO recently. "But right now, I need the game...I need to prove to myself that I can be successful at something. I know I'm going to be successful as a football player. I don't know why. The odds say, 'No.' I'm 36 and I haven't played in four years. But I just know."

Cool. But that explanation still doesn't make up for this, though. [via Shutdown Corner]
