To hear Leno tell it, the Countach wasn't as crazy as we—the dudes who pinned posters of the car on our walls—thought it was. In fact, he says he drove one daily back in the day. In the video he goes on to explain how, despite its looks, the Countach wasn't that aerodynamic of a car. But, whatever—the Countach still holds a dear place in our hearts as the car that made us fall in love with supercars. It was the supercar of the '80s. The one that ushered in a new era of design. The one that we wanted more than Winnie from The Wonder Years. Now that's saying something.
