With the largest range of stadia and the legacy of the highest spectator numbers from the 1994 World Cup, there aren’t too many concerns. The growing popularity of the game and the chance to consolidate this is also a plus in the eyes of FIFA. However, a government resistance to sign up to all FIFA dictates may worry the organization from a legal point of view. A rumor earlier this year suggested the U.S. would be FIFA’s fallback option if Brazil failed to ready itself for 2014.
