Michael Jordan Made the Forbes Billionaires List for the Second Year in a Row

How His Airness ranks among the world's richest.

Yesterday, Forbes released its annual 'World's Billionaires' list which pegged Nike co-founder Phil Knight as the richest name in all of sports. However, Knight wasn't the only Swoosh figure with a prominent place on the list, as Michael Jordan himself made the cut for the second consecutive year.

Although Jordan still trails significantly behind Knight, His Airness' position increased from no. 1,741 to no. 1,577 in the world since his first appearance last year. With an estimated net worth of $1.1 billion, this puts Jordan at no. 486 in the United States.

As noted by Forbes, Jordan's earnings are attributed to his ties to Nike as well as his ownership of the Charlotte Hornets. The rest of MJ's cash flow comes from a combination of endorsement deals with Gatorade, Hanes, and Upper Deck, along with a handful of restaurants and a car dealership.
