It's no secret that J.R. Smith's a huge fan of sneakers. From naming his top five favorite sneakers to starring in a Foot Locker commercial and lacing up the newest Kobe 9s on the court, you can always expect J.R.'s kick game to be proper. It looks like he even shares that same passion with his dad who plans to open a sneaker store in Millstone Township in New Jersey.
Earl Smith has plans to build a 2,700-square-foot strip mall with three spots—one planned specifically for his new venture, Team Swish. Smith plans to position the shop as a high-end sneaker store with products from today's star athletes, as well as Jordan Brand footwear.
Given his obvious connection to NBA stars, we imagine Smith won't have a difficult time building a customer base or acquiring key accounts from major brands. We definitely want to see where this new venture goes and it looks like we won't have to wait long, as construction on the site will begin in two weeks and should wrap up in June.
